Thorax ….. Peacock herl
Hackle …. Red Grouse covert feather
***Let me know what you think. The grouse is one sided stripped
and a bit long because I was in a spidery kind of mood !

Very nice Spidery is good - I like slightly longer hackles. I think they add to overall action of the fly.

If you don't happen to have an Andalusian in the backyard, music stores usually have really nice, white hair from a stallion to restring bows for violins, cellos and such. I mention stallion only because mares get urine on their tails and it weakens the hair. Not a problem with fly bodies, but if you decide to spin up a horse hair line or leader, it could lead to a lost fish.
