Hi Hans,
Have you got a suggestion of a nymph in mind, given the shortness of the barbs? And the rabbit, is that the underfur dyed? Looks a bit 'spikey' for that though.....

Andrew,

More intended as emerger. Abdomen plucked off a dyed rabbit pelt. Not as spiky as hare's ear, but still distinct structure.

If I was fishing that upstream as an emerger, my instinct would be to put a dab of gink or some such on the hackle, probably just the top of it - would you do that?

It is beautifully tied btw Hans... 8-) very small head ;)

Andrew,

Yes, a bit of paste floatant may be effective, or a greased tippet. But also, fishing it deep with some shot will work also.

The head way oversized - I will do better next time 8-)

I just assumed that was design, rather than accident... ;)
