Starting Over
Its been a long time since I've had to tie any flies, actually years since I've been at the vice, I had so many spare flies. But now I've started fly fishing more regularly, Euro Nymphing to be exact in turn snagging a lot and losing flies. Yes, I've got a lot of learning to do in Euro nymphing. I've had to get back on the vice and its so true what that say, "if you don't use it you lose it". My fingers aren't as nimble as they used to be and my proportions, well a lot to be desired but it's fun being back and having a reason to tie again
Life is good, why waste it.

gig, Howdy;
Welcome back! It's akin to riding a bicycle, you might be a bit shaky
when you climb back on, at first, but you'll wake-up the muscle-memory
soon enough. Should not take long before you find your way back.
Good to have you back posting again.

Re: Starting Over
Don't be shy about sharing your creations. I would be interested in seeing your fishing flies, and being able to learn from your experience. Are you able to get out and fish the flies now? Spring is just starting here, so the best months of fishing should be ahead. April thru mid-July is one of my favorite times to fish. The woods and streams are bustling with new life, as spring returns. Flowers start blooming, and the leaves return. In a sense, all things starting over...
Enjoy the journey.
Enjoy the journey.

Have plenty of Frenchies in your arsenal. Pheasant or Thread bodied.
Re: Starting Over
I love Euro nymphing, and I usually have a soft hackle situated highest in the water column during mayfly and Caddis season.

Re: Starting Over
Mercy Dubbn, you have a broad imagination when it comes to flies. Either that, or you live outside the box.
Those are brilliant looking flies. And I'm learning fast that when it comes to tying, there are no limitations.
Thanks for sharing them.
