Materials:
Hook - Daiichi Model 1510/Size 8
Thread - Pearsall's Naples Silk/Jasper
Hackle - Speckled Hen Saddle Hackle
Abdomen - Pearsall's Naples Silk/Jasper
Thorax - SLF Squirrel "Spikey Dubbing"/Rusty Brown

The abdomen is tyed in a double layer to thicken the body. I wrapped the silk from front-to-back-to-front in two layers. The Naples silk is also larger in diameter, which tends to give a thicker body. Sometimes I like a fly with a little meat on it's abdomen.

Cool looking fly, but wrong forum section. ;)

It would make a great PED in a smaller size (#14), but I don't know if you would get away with it given the silk used.

Oops... Thanks Aaron. I agree. I think Pearsall's Gossamer would be a better choice for the smaller sizes.

(Mark - Can you move this post over to the Fly Dressing forum? Sorry, that I posted this in the wrong location.)

RAY,
THERE IS JUST SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE DAIICHI #1510'S.....AND THE PATTERN IS QUITE NICE TOO! LIKE SO MANY OTHERS ON THIS FORUM, THIS PATTERN IS VERY "SUGGESTIVE" OF ALOT OF INSECTS IN THAT BREW OF LIFE WE CALL WATER! LOVE YOUR STYLE RAY!
KEEP'M COMING,
