Icebreaker

Post by DUBBN » Mon Jun 26, 2023 10:37 am

Hook- WFC model 8
Thread- body, Veeves White C02 - head Veevus red B04
Tail- CDL
Rib - Chartreuse UTC Small to Brassie
Abdomen - Micro or Midge tubing in Tan. Black permanent marker down the back.
Hackle Dark Gray Dun hen hackle. (Whiting).
Thorax - Peacock Ice Dub
, or SLF in Peacock
A little Icebreaker action. Size 14 and 16's.

This is a Softhackle-Baetis pattern I first saw on Charlie Cravens' website more years ago than I care to mention. For some reason, he no longer has it in his tutorials.

It has been a confidence pattern for me from the first day I fished it.

That's nice. I can see why it's a confidence pattern for you. What are you using for hackle?

I can see why! That is clearly “a producer”!

Excellent looking fly, DUBBN. I just happen to have all the materials to tie it too. The ribbing really pops out with the dark body.
Simply gorgeous.
