Sulfur soft hackle
Sulfur soft hackle. Sulfurs vary in color where I fish from a light yellow to a dark orange.
Hook: Tiemco 900BL #16
Body: Two to three secondary fibers (dyed turkey) twisted around a single strand of mirage flashaboo
Wing: Brown chick marabou fibers plus squirrel fur in a dubbing loop (squirrel fur first followed by chick marabou in dubbing loop). Squirrel fur helps keeps the chick marabou from totally collapsing when swinging
Head: Two black marabou fibers lightly twisted and wrapped twice around the hook just behind the eye and tie off

Well done. I would say your pattern would do very well as a Western PMD. I know I could make good use of it on the rivers I fish.

Re: Sulfur soft hackle
When you are done with your trip, it would be nice if you could create a tying tutorial for this pattern. Very well thought out design.
Lovely bug!
By the way, the fine depth of focus in your photos really draws the viewer into the picture. Very nicely done.

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.
