Soft Hackle
Hook - Wet fly style
Thread - Black
Ribbing - Tag end of tying thread
Body - Peacock herl
Hackle - Starling feather
Coat the hook shank with crazy glue prior to wrapping the peacock herl forward.
Reverse wrap with the tying thread tag end.
Fine gold wire may also be used as ribbing.
Flytiers sure have a way at making things difficult

Nicely tied, Norm. This one is a favorite of mine. The combination of peacock herl and starling hackle just seems to be a fish magnet. This fly has kept me from getting skunked several times.
