Really nice pattern. The older I get, the more I appreciate simple fly dressings. Have you tried Jim's Triple Threat Caddis. Any time there are caddis about, that's my go-to pattern, in the appropriate color and size.

The Graphic Caddis is a wonderful pattern, but time consuming to tie. For me. Your pattern would produce just as well.
Well done!

That's no lie. There's a reason these old spider patterns have lasted for such a long time and its because they still work. And with today's newer patterns being used as in nymphs and streamers, spiders in my opinion are something fish just don't see as often and that's why they work well.ForumGhillie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:40 amI think the Internet has made so many guys wanting to out tie everyone else and tie flies that get high praise from other fly fishermen. But all that really counts are what the trout think.DUBBN wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:27 amI love this philosophy.ForumGhillie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 8:21 am The older I get the more I prefer simplicity in fly tying.

Look back at old the wonderful old spider, flymph and soft hackle patterns that have worked for generations.
