Re: Steelhead/Salmon Flymphs..... ;>)
Roadkill, that's a BEAUT!!! Really beautiful tye........i'm a HUGE fan of copper anything...........wire, dubbing, tinsel, braid, whatever. You did a great job there. i had planned to get my first fly up on this thread today.........but never got the pic taken..... .....hopefully tomorrow.
i really want you guys not to be afraid to post pics on this thread that will help others learn.........especially pics of flies that may have mistakes or that you DID finish, but maybe somethin' went wrong along the way.....so you can explain the process/adventure/experience, and pretty much act as teachers for everyone.........there are a crap load of people who read these post, but do not participate for a variety of reasons, but they are looking to learn.
What i'm talkin' bouit is a fly that will catch fish, but that for one reason or the other, may not be something you'd wanna frame.....and then tell the story of why or what happened. Everyone can relate to that and it's good for students (which we all are), to see these kinna things, so they don't feel like it only happens to them.
Roadkill.....sorry i forgot, but is your first name Mark?

Ok folks.....just so we're clear and i don't have to ever bring it up again. My heads on all flies i'll be posting to this thread........will NEVER be the BEST they "could" be, because i'll never be doin' more than two coats of water beased head cement, and often just a single coat..........no excuses, but these are fishin' flies.....which may someday get used.....so what you see is what you get. It's actually a good thing in terms of revealing the faults in the original wraps anyway.....keeps ya on your toes. i'm so used to doin' multipul coats on artistics.........but anyway. Good, we're clear.

Okay, I have it pulled up now, and I'm listening to it. Very cool. I think I was 2 when that came out. My parents were not jazz people. My mom was a Motown kind of girl back then...hehehe. I like just about everything myself.willowhead wrote:See there.......i knew this thread would be a good idea. .....Thankx for the contribution already Donald.....don't forget to post pics here.
Oh Kelly, btw....."Mosaic".....one of the BEST record dates of all time..........Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.....mid 60's. Tune was written by Cedar Walton, the Messenger's pianist at the time and became the title tune for the date. Don't fall asleep.....find it.
"Think" of the fly your gonna do that way.....and just start puttin' the pieces together...............you dig?

Mark, I will see what I can think of today. After lunch I will be thinking, and trying to get inspired. I am not a morning person. Most of my best work is in the afternoon, or evening time.
