One of the things that I like most about this construction technique is that it shows how short-stemmed feathers, like partridge, can be used at intervals on long hooks. It is not the same as palmering, but the next best thing for short feathers like partridge. Maybe this is a well-known strategy to everyone else on the forum, but it is new to me.
In the voice-introduction to your video you state that for the Steelhead Pat you use two partridge hackles (in addition to the feather used for the tail). Then you said that if the hook were longer you would use three partridge hackles. Very ingenious. I am going to pull out my partridge skin, and some streamer hooks, and give it a try.
