That is excellent info Mike. The copies on Archive look more like B/W editions,
these pictures are much improved. I see that there are two repro copies for sale in the US.
One is a little more expensive than the other, I have ordered that one, it is still quite cheap.
I shall have to see how it comes out. It may have been copied off the Archive.
I have been trying to get a copy for some time but none for sale on ABBooks.
The main thing is the info. It is a really excellent little book.
Thanks again.

I have always thought Cholmondeley-Pennel was an arrogant a**e, one of many in Fly Fishing I'm afraid.

It is possible to enhance some of these old plates very considerably, but it takes time, and there are limits to what one may achieve. Here are a couple of those plates enhanced more or less to the maximum;

If there is interest I can upload the others as well.

One of the originals, from the best quality plates I could find to begin with, with the same plate next to it after enhancement;

Beautiful work.

The same plate enhanced and enlarged to 200%. This was done to allow good printing on a colour laser;

Mike Connor, Howdy;

Nice work you've done with those plates.
Cleaned them up for their Sunday Best... :)
