Re: Arthur Cove's Nymphs
Is the orange pattern one of his too? I gotta pul out his book again, and study the patters again.
I was always surprised by how far he tyed into the bend of the hook. It adds to the imitative quality of the flies, but made me wonder about the durability.
Have you fished these much?

Re: Arthur Cove's Nymphs
I have never seen nor read his book. So what’s his idea behind the fly being tied around the bend? Was he imitating a cased caddis or midge?
Re: Arthur Cove's Nymphs
Cove’s nymphs were largely tied on a grub hook ( caddis ) and fished on a leader greased up to within a few inches of the fly In the seventies in Britain, it was supposed to imitate hatching buzzers.
Love both fly fishing and fly tying, been doing it for a while
But not much good at either
