Here is my latest variation of the Thompson's Delectable Chironomid. It has been a a staple in my fly boxes since 1986 when I saw the pattern in Flies of the NORTHWEST by the Inland Empire Fly Fishing Club in Spokane, Washington.

The silk will make it a killer  .
Wonderful yarn, I wouldn't mind wearing it myself.

A chironomid on a size 10 2xl is huge
No wonder why some of your lake fish get so big.

RickA,

Huge, no it is just a growing teenager. ;)

As i said in the Tinsels and other bling post. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8744
"The TDC nymph pattern listed was tied on Mustad hooks 3906B, 9671 or 9672 in sizes 6-16." I have only gone up to a 3xl #8. :)
