Dubbn, what size hooks can you tie on using the 4B hen feathers? I didn't buy any because the pictures I looked at all the feathers seemed really large for 14's and 16's, that is as small as I tie because of my vision. Thank you.

I can tie down to 22 with the 4B, but its a struggle. Whiting Genetic hen is better suited for that. I think the 4B shines at 18, 16, 14, and 12. Thats just me tho. Rarely do I agree with anything the experts preach.

The size of the hackle and having some that is
to long is a subject that pops up now and then
our tie2fish was kind enough to do a SBS on how to 'adjust' something that appears to be to long into
something that is
just right as Goldilocks would have said. Here's a link;

Thank you, DUBBN, since I only tie down to a #16 then it seems like a 4B hackle would be fine. Because I order online and can't see the hackle it's difficult to gauge the size of the feathers prior to buying it. Thank you for your help.
