It appears to me that Blacker's Winged Larva and Small Larva in The Art Of Fly-Making 1855 are clearly examples of Emergers. (TO MAKE THE WINGED LARVA Page 42.)
The Winged Larva is a Woodcock Soft Hackle winged with hen pheasant tail and with the larva case tied on below the shoulder of the mohair body. He also describes the large fly as fishing better in deep water.

It has a head of Peacock herl and a yellow Mohair body. With the "shriveled larva" hanging below the body this has to be an emerger IMO.
