Remembering Mark L.

Post by Ron Eagle Elk » Sat May 11, 2019 8:17 pm

I was reminded of the passing of Mark Libertone the other day and decided to add a couple of his favs to my fly box. The Fish Hawk. Mustad 3906B size 12, thread Danville's,6/0 primrose, Hackle, badger hen, tag and rib small gold flat tinsel, body is one strand of Larguntan orange silk floss.

Gennessee Jewel. Mustad 3906 size 12, Thread gray Danville's 6/0, Hackle white hen, tag and rib, pearl tinsel, tail white hen hackle fibers, white rabbit dubbing. I think Mark's version had a neater, more tapered body. It's been a while since I've seen it or tied it.

Ron,

Thank you for posting these flies. It brought a smile to my face. Mark would have been delighted to see your versions of these flies. Very well done. I am happy to see you back at the vice. I’ve been a fan of your tying for many years now.

Lovely wee wets. ;)

Beautifully photographed, too...
