Re: Wilted Spinach variant
Thanks guys, just having a bit of fun. The first soft hackle I've tied in some time, didn't think it would be purple and glitzy.
Ruard- I've really enjoyed your fishing reports and getting an insight into some of the techniques and species you fish for. Very cool, thanks for sharing.

Re: Wilted Spinach variant
How about a new name for the purple version. I nominate wilted cabbage.

That purple fly is right on the money. Wilted Cabbage? Madison Cabbage?

This whole thread has been awfully inspiring. I must resist from doing these right now. Love everyone's take on this style. I bet the fish here would really attack these flies.

That was a great read, thanks for posting it up from the beginning, Ray. I love the flies at the beginning, you know, before all that mad cow purple stuff got all over everything. Although, I should actually try and fish a purple fly before I start casting aspersions.

Mike, as soon as the Piscataquis water levels drop a bit I'll be tossing a purple fly at the local Brookies, just to see if they like it as much as Montana trout did.
