Hooks and spun bodies. If you look carefully at the hooks, they are held in place by the magnets from an old name tag. (Magnets are under the sheet of high viz water color paper - metal plate on top holds the magnets in place).
Prepared partridge hackle (basal fluff stripped off and hackle counted out for the tying session):
Tying Steps
1) Mount hook in vise
2) Wax several inches of your tying silk, and make five firm wraps just behind the eye of the hook. Clip off excess silk tag.
3) Tye in a prepared partridge feather by the center stem. Wrap tying silk back to the middle of the hook shank.
4) Tye in the wire for the tag/rib.
5) Tye in the spun silk body, and wrap back to the barb of the hook. Wrap the tying silk back to roughly 2 mm behind the eye of the hook.
6) Wrap the spun body forward to the tying silk, then tye off. Clip off the excess.
7) Take the wire and pull the end straight upwards, perpendicular (90°) to the hook shank. This step helps bend the wire at 90° angle, ensuring the tag wraps form close to the silk body.
8) Make three wraps with the wire towards the bend of the hook (forms the tag at the back of the fly), then wrap the wire forward in open spiral wraps (forms ribbing and segmentation of the body). Secure the wire in place with waxed tying silk, then worry the wire off (wiggle the wire until it fatigues and breaks of cleanly).
9) Wrap the hackle back to the body, then wrap the tying silk forward thru the hackle fibers.
10) Whip finish, forming a neat head. Clip off the silk.

Unrelated Minutia
Showing how I store my scissors and bobbin between major steps. I've placed a powerful magnet on the screw, at the base of the head of the vice. This allows me to hang my tying scissors by placing the blades on the magnet. They are then always in the same location, and easy to find (when they are not in my hand - I hold my scissors in my hand almost constantly while tying). I use the little material clip to hold my bobbin in place, when not in use. Again, it makes it easy to grab.
