Grateful Red Nymphs
Awhile back, a friend sent me some UV dyed peacock herl. Due to my rapidly advancing age and memory getting worse, I forgot all about the friend's generosity until recently , for which I am very grateful (for the UV herl, not the memory loss!).
So, I decided to tie up a few BH nymphs using the dyed red UV herl; black pheasant tails; gold wire; and (although not visible on this pic), gold holographic tinsel....thus "The Grateful Red Nymphs".

Daiichi 1710....I use 14, 16 and 18
Re: Grateful Red Nymphs
I like that pattern, Bob....very nice. And the hook, too.....Daiichi’s 1710 is one of my all time favorites. Size 10&12 are very close to the Allcocks W173.

Love the name! Would like to see what that thorax looks like in the UV spectrum as the fish would view it.

I was listening to a Grateful Dead YouTube video as I was tying the fly, thus decided on the "Red" name.

Which one? I have a couple of hundred shows to my credit......
