They don't get much simpler than a brown, silk thread body and a dark red grouse feather

Joaniebo- nice ties and photo. Thanks for citing the originator. I like the simplicity of the old patterns. To me, they’re art. Always enjoy your posts- they’re a great model and motivation to tie better. What lighting are you using in your photos?

What make/model/size hook did you tie these on?

Almost all my Spiders and soft hackles are tied on Daiichi #1550 hooks.

Oddly enough, that's the only pattern in Pritt that I've tied and fished that I've never caught a fish on. Not sure why; they certainly look deadly enough.
