I recently came across a great summary of the various insect hatches on Joe Fox (Dette Flies) website. Last weekend, I took some time to converted the information into a visual chart which I could save to my phone and iPad as a reference.

That's the one I used to tie up flies for this past Fall trip. I have it saved on my phone as well.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

The chart makes it easy to see why mid-May to the end of July is prime fishing. Peak time for many hatches.
