baetis
This is tied on a #17, 70D olive UTC thread for body and counter ribbed with orange silk, hackle - starling. This is described in Sylvester Nemes's book Soft-hackled fly imitations for a baetis. I did modify the fly by adding a mole/hare's ear blend dubbing for the thorax.

Re: baetis
I can see the photo (which is very good) and the fly (which is also very good).
Some of the same morons who throw their trash around in National parks also vote. That alone would explain the state of American politics. ~ John Gierach, "Still Life with Brook Trout"
Re: baetis
All I see is the familiar "bar" where the photo should be.....

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.

Dana,
The hook is a Paxipa hook and a friend of mine gave me those after visiting Japan. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find more of them and I am down to my last 4. The feathers I use are from the leading wing edge/covert.
