A little different approach....

Dear Friends,
With the cooler weather finally making a showing in our Ohio River valley, I have been tying a little bit more and spinning flymph bodies a little bit more also. Until I get the hang of it and become alot more consistant, here's how it's been working out. I spin the flymph body first and look pretty closely at it's size before I place the hook in the vice. Then, the body seems to be more in tune with the hook and hackle size which makes this flytyer a whole lot happier.
My speckled darlings in the back pond seem to like them alot better too.
I am also going steady with Mustads #94842. This was the favorite of Pete Hidys and I am starting to like them alot. They really do look cool on those up-eyed beauties.
What's your thoughts folks?

Yes, I have gotten the hint! I am hoping Santa will look upon my low estate and grant me a big, fat digital monster with all the bells and whistles..... or at least have macro-photography
abilities!
I'll see what I can do about a picture or two a.s.a.p. I didn't realize there were so many variables in spinning ones own. I'm thinking of a particular flymph that I tied recently. I think I'll call it "Bad Hair Day". Now, if only I can reproduce it?
I'm looking forward to having the ability to share some of my patterns with all of you. After you see my flies, you may want me to start shooting landscapes or protraits. (tell'm Jerry G.)

It has been some months back now that Doug and I struck up some PM conversations which resulted in an exchange of several flies. Doug's ties have found a central location on my tying bench so that from time to time I can reference his along with others that I have received over the years serving as bench marks for my efforts at the vice. Doug mentions macro photography so as to share his efforts with all of us. I think that is a wonderful idea Doug. Now as for my efforts at the vice, I'm just not quite that brave.
