Nice looking fly. Agreed; one of the classics, and one that has caught lots of fish for me. :D

One of my favorites, and you have tied it perfectly- I like/tie/ fish almost an identical version..

Thanks for the kind comments my friends. This simple buggy pattern has a soft spot in my heart. It’s the first pattern I learned to tie and I probably don’t tie it much better now than I did back then :lol:

[Great fly! I also tie it with different wire colors and sizes to vary the fishing depth.

BTW - nice touch, using the oval tinsel..... I do the same...not a big fan of flat tinsel. The old stuff is sublime ..... when we were at the Hall of Fame induction this past fall, I was rooting around through the thread bin in the museum store. At the bottom I found a few old spools really really nice oval tinsel. One of them was ultra ultra fine, like I’ve never seen before ......it is the diameter of 6/0 thread ! And it ties beautiful small flies....
