This simple dressing is my favorite for meeting UC green drakes.
Hook: #10 TMC 200R
Thread: yellow Pearsall's
Hackle: golden plover
Tail: bronze waterfowl flank colored with bright yellow highlighter
Body: olive hare's mask twisted on a loop of the tying silk, touched with gray rabbit over the thorax

Very nice looking fly.
Am sure it looks just as nice from the front. The plover is a beautifully marked hackle.
We don't have green drakes as far as I know but it'd do well here in NZ.
How hard can it be?

Looks to be a killer bait, Steve. Love the dusting of grey in the thorax.

Oh wow! That is so graceful. Although the fly would look elegant in a frame, I know this is something you fish. Even better, IMO.

On my screen as well, the thorax rabbit fur as well as a reflection off some of the hackle appears as blue. Pretty but blue.

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen. Always a pleasure.

(Swellcat, that happens sometimes as you get older. They may be real. And maybe not. But it's generally best not to tell anybody you're seeing blue people.)
