Yesterday I was out with my fishing pal Cor and tried the new bumble fly.

I caught a little Rudd with it.

Here I caught the little fish:

To bad your hands are so large. (friendly humor)

Thanks for sharing the photos, Ruard. I always enjoy seeing your home water and fish. They are a pretty fish.

Ruard ~ I see that Mr. Rudd has given you a little gift in exchange for holding him out of the water ;)  .

Very well done Ruard! The technique, the tutorial, the fly and the Rudd. Nice sequence.

Kind of like creek chubs and fall fish in that respect. It's the one thing that keeps me from deliberately targeting them more often. It would probably be a disincentive to fish for rudd as well. A handsome fish, nevertheless.

I was fishing today, sun was shining and there was a nice ripple on the canals of Alkmaar.

This is where I fished:

Image

This was the fly: red tag bumble no 4.

Image

The body was a brush: purple dubbing, grizzley saddle feather and normal thin copper wire

This was the fish: a bream.

Image

I fished with a #4 rod and a leader of 3 meter.

Ruard, Howdy;

The bream looks to make a better meal then the Rudd and appears better mannered as well.
Good to see you have not caught a bus or a bicyclist. I do not think they would fit in your net. ;) .
Thanks for bringing us with you to your fishing place. Who took the photo?
