Re: Double Softhackle Caddis
Scott - This has the look of a workhorse pattern. I'd fish this with great confidence. Masterful...

Scott,
That's a great looking pattern, and a very nice application of materials!

ScottP. Howdy;
Very impressive fly. What was it that prompted you to do this, in this manner?
Had you seen something similar in the past or just a stray thought you captured then
ran with? I'm always interested in the motivation ("inspired" is a very over used and now
worthless word for me), behind the fly. The nuts & bolts as it were are on display ...
but what is the motivation, thought or reasoning that led to it's development that's
what truly interests me. What fires the imagination .....

Saw a pic over on the Lefty Angler blog. I've found a number of interesting patterns there and this one looked like a nice, simple, fishy-looking fly.hankaye wrote:What was it that prompted you to do this, in this manner?

Like this one Scott. Looks like workhorse bait. As is, tied in #10, looks like a good match for Traveling Sedge, appearing right now. Lots of built-in movement with this design, so might work well weighted to fish under a big dry hopper or OC.
