Re: October Caddis Emerger
Lovely. Looks sort of like a Northwest USA version of an Irish mayfly (even though it's a caddis). Colors marry exceptionally well.

That should attract some Sea Run Cutthroat or Steelhead, for sure. Nicely done.

Bill, I do borrow a lot of ideas from the Irish. Cool you noted the style.
Ron, this one is my favorite sea run cutt fly -- & quick & easy to tie.

Re: October Caddis Emerger
Steve - Sorry I had not commented earlier. When I looked at the fly yesterday I was struck silent. I sat here gape jawed, staring in wonderment at a fly I needed for steelhead fishing this fall. I agree with Bill. I too can see the Irish influence. I can also recognize the spun silk body construction of our beloved flymphs. And the graceful sweep of a Spey fly.
Remarkably stylish fishing fly. Well done...

Well done Steve! I tie something a bit similar for night fishing the October caddis. Not as pretty as yours though!

Thanks Smuggler & Ray. Glad you like the patt. And of course your own workhorse baits are always an inspiration.
