Claret Gnat Spymph
Inspired, & figured to offer one up to the new lexicon. Black rabbit touched on a strand of claret yarn & twisted; natural bronze/black hen.

Oh boy -- I like that a lot, Steve. Touched just right! (And your new camera seems to be doing the job very well.)

Simply perfect. Great pattern Steve. Could you tell us what type of yarn you used? I'd like to give these a try.

Re: Claret Gnat Spymph
Thanks guys.
Bill, the new camera is definitely better than the old one. The machine is still smarter than me, but I'm working toward graduating from auto mode.
Ray, the yarn is scrap from my wife's basket. Looks like standard diameter (6ml ?), 4 strand. A single strand taken from that, good for a #12; though I've used UNI yarn for these, & that will allow a smaller size.

Boy if that's not killer I don't know what is! Very nice work all around Steve.

Thanks Smuggler.
Do you fish the Upper Connecticut? The Mad? The White? Putney Brook?
I used to love those places when I was going to school in Mass.

I just recently relocated here and haven't had too much time to fish but, I've fished the Mascoma and the Sugar, both very pretty streams. We've been meaning to take a drive up to Pittsburg to hit the upper Conn but, haven't done so yet. Weekends are for exploring Any tips you could provide? PM or email me.

Nothing new to add on what has already been said.
I love it.
Gotta be a killer with that claret bleeding through.
Well done!

How hard can it be?

Thanks Preemerger.
Smuggler, it's been 40 years since I fished in your region. Can't help you much. There is a lot of pleasant exploration to be had near you. Those places I mentioned were all good, at the time.
