Mustad Classic hooks on ebay

Post by wayneb » Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:57 am

Hi All;
There's an ebay retailer, HarleeRod that's selling a ton of older style Mustad hooks on ebay. Thought many might be good for Wingless wets: http://stores.ebay.com/Har-Lee-Rod__W0Q ... mit=Search

A lot of short shanked ring eyed hooks,many in odd numbered sizes. Most auctions have been going for $0.99 per 500 hooks. A few more desirable models, mostly classic streamer hooks are going for a bit more.

Thought I'd just pass on the information if any are interested, I have no affiliation with the seller, just trying to avoid buying anymore!

Hi Johnno;

That's who I heard about hooks from to start with. I initially purchased some classic streamer hooks and then started looking at all the other hooks for sale and thought many would make good flymph hooks.

If you look at the selling prices, the majority of multiple bids and thus slightly higher prices are for classic streamer hooks.

I have purchased a lot of hooks from them with no problem and very quick pleasant service. Never bought from them on ebay always just went to the source. They're inexpensive enough.

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Second that... I've purchased from their store on a lead from Chris as well. I was looking for 3665A in a size 16 to tie a Crane Fly pattern I developed. Quick service, reasonable shipping, and great communications. They do have a large selection to choose from and all the hooks I received were in sealed boxes with no tarnishing or rusting. They looked like the day they came from the factory.

Best,
Bruce C
