Supposedly, the creation of 2 British anglers, Kemp and Heddle, in the 30's. I've seen them tied with the yarn on top of the tippet, too, but prefer this arrangement.

hook - Mustad 3906 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tag - tinsel silver
butt - yarn hot orange
tail - golden pheasant tippet
rib - oval tinsel silver
body - peacock herl
hackle - hen black

Scott, another beautiful assembly. Very elegant. Is this a sea trout pattern from the UK or did it originate somewhere else?

William,

Apparently, it was a lake fly; supposed to represent a small dark bee that fell in great numbers on the water, blown there by the wind.

Thanks, Scott. Looks like a very attractive pattern.

The Ke-He was devised in the Orkney Islands, in the 1930s by the aforesaid Kemp and Heddle.
It is still a very popular loch fly here in Scotland and in the rest of the U.K.
