Pheasant Tail Spider (Almost)
I was trying to tie a pheasant tail spider, but ended up breaking the thread as I was forming the whip finish. It could have been a nice fly, but it looks like I will have to start over.

Nah. Super glue on the thread after you finish wiggling it thru the hackle. A couple of wraps and trim it close.
Might be something for next time.

The is plenty of thread there to do a couple of double half-hitches behind the eye. A drop of head cement after and you're good to go. That fly is way to fine to waste.

Ray, not sure how I'm just seeing this. I love this fly on that hook. Nice proportions and the tails are a cool effect. Those hackle pliers hold great, but I can't quite get the rotation to control hackle twist with those. I'm just stuck with my JDorrin tear drops. But the idea is really appealing.
Sorry for the delayed response. This is a very cool tie.
