You mean you do not carry a "roadkill" kit in the truck?
Utility knives are kind of slow and cumbersome- bypass secateurs are just the "ducks nuts" for lopping off hare feet and the faster you can harvest them- the less chance of the natives getting restless as to you pinching their dinner.
