William Anderson Demonstrating Clark Dubbing Block Technique
Here is a YouTube video of William Anderson demonstrating how he forms dubbing bodies for flymph, using one of his Clark dubbing blocks. There is no sound. We video taped this when we got together for TroutOberfest in October. The fly shop was very noisy, so I turned on the audio feature on my camera. I've added text annotation to document the critical steps in the process.
Nice job William.
Nice job William.

William!
Outstanding!! I really enjoyed watching you work your magic at the block! I always pick up and interesting tid bit when I watch you work. I really liked how you mounted the spun body onto the card by slipping it (the card) under the body securing one end first and then the other! It has never dawned on me to try this and I can't wait to get to the spinning block and do this!
You are a national treasure William. Thanks Ray for posting this for us!

Friend Doug
Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.

Re: William Anderson Demonstrating Clark Dubbing Block Technique
Ray, thank you, thank you. I really appreciate you taking the time to put that up. I always planned to do more step by step material and video. This is a good start. I should look at a simple program to dub vocals over the video, if it seemed helpful. Such a simple process but everyone does it a little differently.
Point of information, for the lighter dubbing, this was 50/50 beaver and red fox, I really like the black background strips. I seem to reach for darker block.
Thanks again. I enjoyed seeing this.

Do you guys see pop-up text while watching the video? I annotated the video, but it does not seem to be working unless I am logged into my YouTube account. I intended to have the annotations visible to everyone. Please let me know if they are appearing correctly.

Seems to work fine on this one as well Ray.
Nice video William, as the saying goes- a picture paints a thousand words.

Super job by both demonstrator William and videographer Ray. This clip is destined to be a classic piece of "how to".

Howdy All;
Agree wholeheartedly with tie2fish's sentiments.
Everything works for this decrepit machine...
I'd much rather have the pop-ups for this type of SBS, I can pause the motion, and make notes
and look back to ensure I have it correct. Trying to back spool the video to get a sound grab is a
pain in the butt.

PS. Ray, the caption at 0:59 to 1:26 seems to have been cut short, those of us that have been
"indoctrinated" to the use can figure it out, perhaps less so for others. (constructive criticism).

Thanks Hank. I will look into it and see if I can fix the size of the text box. It was a bit "twitchy" when I was playing with the editing tools on YouTube. I thought I had caught all those issues, but apparently not.

Ray,
Beautifully done. You too William. You have made a very simple explanation.
The text boxes look fine on my Mac display. Everything is good.
