Thanks Dubbn, for posting the Grannom Pupa by Hans Weilenmann.

Instead of the lighter colored body that Hans has in the video,
I used the dark natural Hare's ear and pheasant neck collar.

Used a Mustad C49S caddis curved hook in #14.

I will generally just use them as you would any other soft hackle feathers. I am especially fond of the blue green feathers with white tips from the Ringneck Pheasant. That little spark of white on the end of the hackle just really trips my trigger. The bream I fish for seem to like it, but I wouldn't say it was any more or less effective than, say, Partridge.

This is the fly I usually use the Ringneck feathers for.

Just tie and use your own ideas! Here are a couple of #14 flymphs:

"Just tie and use your own ideas!"

Well said Bill. I enjoy your creativity. I love the texture you've achieved with the beaver dubbing. I've normally twist dubbed beaver, but I am going to have to try it in a dubbing brush. I love how you can still see thru to the thread core. Nicely done.

Questions - where did you get your beaver dubbing?

Ray,

Some of my beaver dubbing, I have bleached and dyed myself from furrier's coat scraps or a skin. The 2 colors I used here came from Rocky Mountain Dubbing Co. but I don't remember where this dispenser came from. It might have been Feathercraft or Cabela's but the ones they currently offer don't contain the same colors. Most likely I found it in some fly shop somewhere. ;)
