Yea, that's a good looking pattern there. She'll clean up under a PMD/sulpher hatch for sure.
Thanks for posting the "wet" picture by the way, and the other pattern which is also handsome!

The darkening once wet surprised me.
Now I'm wondering what will happen to ties done with waxed thread.
Back to the vice ...

Perphaps I'll stick with sunlight
Tim,

If you are fine with variance and choosing your moments, stick with daylight.

If you want to take control, go artificial light with a couple lamps. Unlike when we shot film, most digital cameras allow custom white balance and searching for a specific color temp lamp/bulb/tube is no longer a priority. I shoot all my flies using very cheap lamps and manual white balance - with absolute color representation.

Cheers,
Hans W

PS Nicely tied bug
Got one light Hans and here it is.
I'll leave the multi-light setups for pros like you
Got any tips on how to get my seat back?

White and ginger dubbing on the hoof..... excellent.
But, you mounted your vice on the wrong side of the bench!

Not even good for a Ginger Mick, Jeff.
They would continue shedding hair around your house

The vice wouldn't suit you but it's been purrfect for me ;)

Priceless! Nice Kitty (and setup). My cat often wants to sit in my lap while I tye, which is usually fine, until he wants to eat one of my bird skins, or bat at the material I am wrapping around the hook. It adds a new dimension to the challenge.

My cat loves to be combed and I get to keep the nice dubbing blend.

Do you get a show called "Big Bang Theory" down there? I am reminded of the "Soft Kitty" song.

Our late friend Mark Romero (willowhead) used one of those vices. Seeing it made me smile.

Ray, we get it (probably several seasons behind you guys) sitting through an entire episode...... that is another story.

Tim, I could use your set up. I do a lot of things with the "correct" hand and not all with the right one. ;)

Seems to be a pervasive problem ...

I was tying earlier. Jasmeen decided I needed a break. She crawled up in my lap and kept batting at my hands until I agreed to pet her.
An hour later, and she's asleep, and I'm having to type with one hand, because she is lying on the other one. Every time I try to move it, she trills at me.
Good thing I don't like Cats...

Oh, and she is a ringer for your cat, Bill. She has about 6 white hairs on her chest.
