I recently bought a very interesting book about "Nymph Fishing - A history of the art and practice" by Terry Lawton. I've only begun reading it, but I've already found it to be facinating.
Has anyone else read this book?

Like Ruard, I have it and read it a few years ago. While interesting, one could wish for a more "lively" presentation of the subject. I remember finding it very dry when I expected it to be both deeper and higher, such as the subject would allow.

Ray,
I also have it and it's pretty good! I have to agree somewhat with darringduffer in it's "liveliness" but overall a good read! Terry did a very good job in demonstrating that nymph fishing is nearly another world when compared to fishing in and just under the surface film! And it was interesing to note that there were, in the late 1800's and early 1900's established masters of this art even before it's discovery and aquisition by the rest of the flyfishing world! And, since that time, there is a new breed of "nymphers" that continue the high art!
What a fascinating subject and a pretty decent book to boot!

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.
