Just a wee reminder, baby seals shed their white fur two weeks after they are born, just before
they take to the water for the first time. They leave it on the beach, where it is collected for
cleaning and dyeing and then is sold as dubbing. No seals are killed in the process.
Mature seals fur is useless.

I know nothing about seal dubbing except what I read and watch on the internet. How does this McPhail pupa pattern's use of "adult" seal differ from the baby seal? Just asking for educational purposes--not looking for a debate or challenging anyone.

Looking at the dubbing. The Adult appears much more stiff and spiky than what I have used. Can't help with any of the other possible property differences. Nice pattern.

The adult fur is wider & thicker than the baby fur and it is generally brownish in color/shades. The baby fur is fine in size/texture,cream in color and translucent. The adult is ok for large patterns (terrestrials/big bugs) and is a bit of a bear to work with.
