Re: Starling & Gold
Nice spider Rodger. I need to look thru my hooks to see if I have any of the 1640's. I'd like to add a few of these to my fly box.

Re: Starling & Gold
Your nice sharp photo clearly shows us the matching gold of the hackle tips and the abdomen, Rodger. Very nicely done. Is there a cement on the head wraps that gives them that amber shade?

Yes, I use Sally Hansen Clear. Turns the color of most threads darker. Probably don't need it, but I usually only do a 3 turn whip finish, so I feel better if I stick it down with something.

Re: Starling & Gold
Great photo and pattern. I like the effect the touch dubbed muskrat has on the fly. Well done.
Re: Starling & Gold
I like the pattern, the hook, and how the materials all go so well together. Looks like a killer little pattern to me.
