Looking at it after posting, I see a gap in the tag, and the body looks to be a little short. I'll correct those items on the rest. This one goes in the "fishing" box.

The body seems about the right length to me -- it ends between the point and the barb.chase creek wrote:Looking at it after posting, I see a gap in the tag, and the body looks to be a little short. I'll correct those items on the rest. This one goes in the "fishing" box.

The length is fine. That little tag issue probably could not be seen with the naked eye. Happens to me all the time now. The fly is really good looking to me.

Thanks, Bob / Kelly. Thought it would look a little better with the body going to the start of the bend, but maybe I'll leave it as is.
(By the way, there's a local DJ named Bob Kelly who is WAY OFF THE WALL. Just thought of that when I typed your names in. It's 2am, and I can't sleep. )

Rodger this would be a great fly to demonstrate the hydrofuge created when submerged. The space within the hackle and the nature of the body will certainly produce that large bubble over the thorax. Nice fly.

Rodger - Excellent dressing. I like the proportions, and general bugginess (compliment) of the fly. The red tag is a nice touch. I would like to see any other versions you come up with. It would be interesting to see a longer body version for comparison.

I bet the fish will love it beside those little in-discrepancies you mentioned, not that they matter. It's a great fly and I definitely can do with a few in that pattern in my fly box, well done
Life is good, why waste it.

I am sure this pattern will fish very well, regardless of any perceived imperfections...... looks good to me.
