Re: Sith's soft hackles
Arthur - Thank you for sharing these photos. The olive green and heron bodied flies are my favorite. They just beg to go fishing. Is that real heron herl? It makes a terrific looking body.

Yes, it's true heron. Once I found a few feathers on the banks of the river. A predator killed a bird and left a few feathers of the wings.

Re: Sith's soft hackles
Artur, what a nice collection and variety of softies. I'm very partial to the spectral blended dubbed spider in the first set. I've come back to this a number of times and the qualities of that body are beautiful. Nice work all around. thanks so much for posting these.
I can see you're like many of us who enjoy experimenting with materials and constructions. Is there a fly here that you prefer and what's your favorite way to fish them? Thanks in advance.

Arthur - I hope you don't mind, but I have gone back thru your post and numbered the flies, and added your recipes into the initial post, next to each photo. This will make it easier to reference the patterns individually. As I was doing this, I realized I had not seen many of the flies on the first page of this posting. Excellent set of flies.

The March Brown Spider is my favorite. While fishing I use the classic dead drift. Sometimes in the slower sections of the stream I slightly pump.William Anderson wrote: I can see you're like many of us who enjoy experimenting with materials and constructions. Those are a beautiful combination of three historically proven natural materials, Sith. Very nice work.
