Video, Partridge and Orange with Hx and Pearsall Color Card
Thought I would share this. Though videos of tying these are common, the brief literature review I thought was well done and easier than clicking back and forth through the PDFs. I don't have all of the Pearsall colors and that review was a nice touch as well. Also has the flavor of authenticity being done by a Yorkshire veteran. The tie is a variant.

I enjoyed the video. Thank you for sharing that. So he uses silver wire on his Partridge & Orange. I also wonder what kind of wax he was using. That was as big as a bar of soap. Great stuff. I have been on a spider kick, so I enjoyed this.

Good video. Thank you for the history lesson, and demonstrating your technique. It wasnt till a few weeks ago that I knew it was the Brown feather that is preferred. I will tie a few up with the silver rib as well.

I liked him showing which feathers on the bird to use too. I have used the barred feathers, or any brown. But now I will try to use the ones he mentioned. It was worth watching just for that alone.

He's got ones on the water hen bloa and snipe and purple as well.
Notice in the hook chart he shows for the snipe and purple that the hook sizes we use today are the old numbers; they replaced the new numbers. You gotta love fly fishing terminology.
(The new system was an attempt to standardize on something other than Partridge's system but anglers were reluctant to give up what they knew.)

A big "Thank you" for introducing this nice fellow to us. I joined him for creeper fishing in River Ure where he ended up catching a wild brown trout on a small Klinkhamer. I like his pace.

I watched the other two videos last night. Well worth watching. I also watched the one where he discussed capes. Good stuff.

Interesting video, and certainly a different method for tying the Partridge and Orange than most I have seen. Thanks for sharing.
