Nice set Carl - What size hooks are these tyed on? Around here, I like to tye and fish with sizes 8 thru 4. Lately size 8 seems to be my favorite. I will occasionally go up to a size 2, but the larger hook requires longer hackle to work with.
I love the look of CdL feathers, but is sometimes hard to get good ones for this type of fly (long fibers) via internet. I've had better luck buying the feathers in person, so I can inspect each pack to get just what I am looking for.

Glad you guys like them.
I tie these in #6-#10, but most often just stick with #8. I agree about the CdL. It is much better to be able to handle the feathers before purchasing. I try too find the the Rooster saddles and then select the upper feathers on the saddles that have some webbiness to them.

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Wonderful ties! I have lots of wool and I am now inspired to finally dye some. Thank you for posting.
