My Steelhead Flymphs
Here are my standard steelhead patterns.
I may have posted one or two of these before. I rephotographed them and added some friends. These are the standard patterns I carry in my steelhead box. I always have these plus a couple experimentals.
Black hen Coq de Leon hackle, teal tail, silver rib and blue dyed wool English grouse hackle, Chukar flank tail, gold rib and Hare dubbing Coq de Leon hackle, matching Coq de Leon tail, pearl shrimp foil rib and hare dubbing

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Yep, and my Golf pants are blue by the way....Levi's
These are actually quite reserved for most steelhead pattern colors.

Reserved, but in a heck of a nice way.
But got to ask..... no Purple Peril? OK it has a bit of a deer hair wing happening, but I believe it is meant to be one of the Steelhead flies to have? I tried tying some a while ago without the deer hair and with a Pukeko spey through the thorax area, we have no steelhead here, but it was fun.

Jeff,
Didn't you hear? .... Blue is the new purple. Purple is yesterday.
Purple Peril is a great pattern though.

Ah that is me- always 20 years behind the times down here at the bottom of the World!
That blue is striking, but why Woolworths? Is it to do with the rib?

Woolworthy. I have tweaked the patterns just a bit over time. Most were simply wool bodies of different color.

Re: My Steelhead Flymphs
So Woolworthy is your name for the pattern and not a play on the British based (now closed) chain of stores. All is clear now, thank you Master- Grasshopper may sign off and go fishing now.

All great ties, but I've been hating on the "Gamebird Flymph" for years now.
