Nice!
Now, had you tied 20 of these a month ago........
The swap was missing a big ole Steelhead or Salmon sized Tup fly, I honestly thought someone might have come up with one- just to be different. I think you covered that base quite nicely.

I toyed with the idea, but I thought Carl might do one. I ended up tying some steelhead flies for another swap I was in on FTF forum (my recent Orange Spellbinder pattern). Oh well.
Beautiful fly Hans.

I also toyed with the idea...... Carl should be able to vouch for that. Never mind, you still offered up a wonderful interpretation of the pattern.

Re: Steelie Tups
Nice looking fly--you and Hans have put Crawdub on my shopping list as well.
Re: Steelie Tups
Nicely proportioned and great colors.

Outstanding work, love it.
Re: Steelie Tups
Great looking fly Hans. I tie a very similar and have fished it for steelhead for about 3 years now with some success.
Actually, although it is hard to tell in the pictures, Stendalen's pattern in the Tup's Swap is of proper steelhead size. There is great variation in the swap and lots of "goodies" coming that I did not mention anywhere.... the excitement builds....

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.
