Tup's Variation
Every once in awhile a pattern is posted here, and it really strikes a nerve with me. The photo of Ruards Tups did it to me this morning. More specific, the abdomen. I had to go to my tieing desk and play.
Ruard, thank you for the inspiration.
Hook - Mustad 3399, size 10
Thread - UTC70, Cream
Abdomen - Midge Tubing with a Hot Yellow wire (UTC) core
Thorax - Tups dubbing (home made)
Collar- Dun Hen Hackle

That is a killer, no doubt--I bet you could put a darker thread underbody on it and have a first rate sulphur emerger as well. (Or--if you really did want to go to Funky Town -- why not wrap the tube/wire over a contrasting tinsel underbody?)

Wayne, great looking variation! Almost a Greenwells like body in heavy form. I like it.

Re: Tup's Variation
Wayne - Superb... Talk about a "confidence pattern"'. I'd swing this and feel certain of catching fish. I think many species would find this irresistible (trout, steelhead, smallmouth, panfish and probably carp). Very fishy combination.
Outstanding photo, too.
