JohnP!!!!!!! My arm hurts from all the fish I caught today. I cought alot, but my buddy took me out behind the wood shed and gave me a working over! I maybe caught 15. I swear he caught 50. He was in a zone. I heard him mumble "its about time". LOL

Thing is, he is a very dear friend, and I swear I enjoy watching him wreak havoc on the trout as much as if i were in the zone.

I did well with a size 18 Grizzly SH,,It is gray thread with clear midge tubing that has a black wire core. I will try to post a pic. The hottest fly was size 18 Buckskin. The pattern I sent a pic of.
I picked a couple up on a size 20 Baetis....The fly I posted today. I also picked up a couple on a size 20 PT nymph.

I dont know if anybody is familliar with a Grand Slam, but I managed to do that today. Native Cutthroat, Rainbow, and Brown. My buddy has the Brown trout photos on his camera. I will post a pic when he sends them.
All of these fish took the little Black and Gray SH. 1st two pics are the same fish.

Not much of a Brown. I set the hook and he didnt even fight. He acted like a piece of moss being dragged through the water. I grabbed it to take the hook out and noticed the leader was wrapped around the fish' snout. No biggy, Browns tend to roll when I catch em anyway . I pulled my fly out and a peculiar thing happened. My rig fell away, but the leader and flys were still wrapped around its snout. It wasnt my leader. That dinky fish had managed to break someone elses rig and wrap it around its face, and still eat my offering. I unwound the mess and set him on his way. One of the very few times that I am sure that a fish was better off by having me stick steel in its face.

You can get the Griffith 14/0 Shear Ultrafine thread from J> Stockard. They have a pretty good selection of colors. I just recieved some Claret, Grey, Black, and Brown. Pretty fast, they were. :D

I ordered some of the Benicchi thread from performanceflies.com. The cost per spool was not bad, but the shipping charge almost made me choke. However, like some others on here ;) , I tend to be an impulse buyer. If his service is good, I will probably order from him again, as he has some other interesting items.
