Hook: Mustad Signature R70, size 12
Thread: Pearsall's Antique Gold
Hackle: Starling
Rib: Copper wire
Tail: Golden Pheasant Tippet, dyed orange
Thorax: Ice Dub, orange
First in a series of flies "imitating" various trout and char. Excuse the apple, again. Looking for other fruit stands...get it?!
Re: Baby Brown (trout)
Beautiful! Did you dye those tippets yourself? If not, I'd sure like to know where you got them. Hint hint!

Wonderful tie, crisp and clean. Thanks for posting.

Just a point of correction - the ice dub color is officially "rusty brown". May try tweaking this fly a bit...but that means I may have to buy more materials! AHHHHH!

Beautiful fly. Perfectly proportioned, to my eyes. I love the color scheme. Great job.

Very funny. A really nicely tied brownie. I'm looking forward to the series.Izaak wrote: Looking for other fruit stands...get it?!

Hi Ruard,
It is not dyed, but I see what you mean. I could be a little of the natural greenish iridescence in the feather or a "side effect" of the poor lighting/white balance issue I am tying to correct. Thanks!
