The material list correct, but for one item. The thorax is the dyed bright green peacock herl from Hareline. I do not think I sent that to Hans correctly. No flash back on this fly.
Half of the time the finish on my flies is not at the head.
I try to keep the head as unobtrusive as possible, sometimes manaaging itt - beginner's luck.
If there is a large head of tying silk, there is more to go wrong.
I only lacquer the head on flies for other folks, not for mine.
Thus I want to keep as few weaknesses as possible,
least turns = least likely to get pulled apart by teeth and casting.
Aesthetically, small heads make it for me.
