Re: Casting for Recovery
Most of the women who use the flies donated to Casting for Recovery, have no idea as to their dollar value.........but to them, they are worth 100 times more. i've seen what it is like when they recieve their flies at a retreat. VERY often they will not fish with them, the save them for sentimental value and keepsakes. Translation: exactly what Ray wished for........"healing & comfort."

Re: Casting for Recovery
Willow is correct. Often the items received at the retreats are more treasure than tool. I've met several people, men included, who have been to the retreat after and during their battle with this most common of cancers, and they all have been lifted to a new understanding that they have others who they can talk with and learn about the trial of healing. What a gift you all have given. Not only of the flies, but of time and energy, of thought and compassion. The mere act of donating is the spirit we all surrender to regardless if it's at "the season" or mid-summer. I've said it to each of you who have made a contribution to this new chapter of Casting for Recovery:

I'm definitely the dunce in that class. But I will do my best, and you are certainly welcome. I have two sets completed and hope to do two more. I have tied 14 muskrat flymphs and 14 partridge and yellows. I am working on some starling and herls and have not decided what my fourth fly will be. Don't know why I decided to tie four sets.

Re: Casting for Recovery
Ariel - The flies are in the mail. Hopefully you will get them by the middle of next week (by 21-Dec-11). Please let me know when you get them. I added a special message on the back of the piece of foam holding the flies.
